The following is a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol Lake County Office. This has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On October 17, 2023, at approximately 8:45 PM the California Highway Patrol, Clear Lake Area, was notified of a possible injured pedestrian in the area of State Route 29 and Hofacker Lane near Lower Lake, California.
Upon arrival, first responders and CHP personnel located an unresponsive Hispanic male adult laying on the east shoulder of northbound State Route 29 north of Hofacker Lane. The Hispanic male adult was pronounced deceased at the scene for reasons still under investigation by CHP Northern Division, Investigative Services Unit.
