Lost Hiker Rescued by Helicopter Along the Mendonoma Coast

Categories:

Yesterday afternoon, help came from the sky for a lost hiker along the South Fork of the Gualala River.

A Facebook post from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office reported the agency’s Henry-1 helicopter was dispatched to the area of Sea Ranch where a hiker had reportedly been “separated from the group he was hiking with and and had been missing for several hours.”

The flight crew conducted what was described as an “extensive search” and located the hiker along the rural waterway.

Henry 1 found a nearby landing zone, a tactical flight officer took off on foot and accompanied the lost hiker back to the helicopter.
