      • Volvos started doing that about15 years ago. the commercial some couple driving off and the male was not looking forward as he was about to hit a car so the alarm goes off letting him know that he is a moron.
        true story.

  1. Saw the headline and had to comment. The article does not mention any failure on on the part of the vehicle. There should not be any mention of the make/model of the vehicle in the headline. Bad reporting on the headline or content.

    • Teslas weigh in between 4,090 to 5,438 lbs . The average compact sedans on our highways weigh in at around 3,000 lbs. So when a pedestrian gets hit by a Tesla it’s more likely to be a fatality. So the description of the car that is involved has pertinence to the story.

  2. I don’t have an electric car and won’t until they can do better. Much better, so it’s not about defending e-cars. Personally I am not fond of Tesla’s explosion issue, This heading sounds like the Tesla driver was trying to kill the pedestrian. It’s unfortunately not uncommon for people in that area to walk in the dark, wearing dark or black clothes, no flashlight or reflectors anywhere and sometimes IN the road. I’ve had a few scares myself having to drive there and why I have a dash cam. Alcohol is a possible factor also not unusual there. I know, I work there. HATE having to drive in the dark there because of it.
