Viral Video Features Ukiah Couple Getting Roasted by Comedian at Santa Rosa Stand-Up Show

A Ukiah couple became the butt of comedian Matt Rife’s crowd work on Wednesday, November 29 as seen on Instagram and YouTube, garnering hundreds of thousands of views.

The clip entitled “Badd’er Santa” shows Rife picking an older man with a white beard out from the crowd initially asking him if he does “the mall Santa-stuff.”

A woman sitting next to him responded to Rife saying that he is the “town Santa for Ukiah.”

Rife then presented his rendition of what an average Ukiahan would ask Santa for Christmas: “I want my own spoons and needles. I don’t want to share anymore.”

The couple appears to take the comedian’s jokes as good-natured ribbing, telling him at one point that the bearded man works as a cabinetmaker. Rife quips, “Are you Jesus Christ?”

The jokes continue with Rife commenting on the apparent age gap between the man and woman.

The clip has been liked over 200,000 times on Instagram and has been viewed nearly 300,000 times on YouTube.

Matt Rife has been in the news as of late because of a controversial joke made in a recent stand-up special regarding domestic violence.

To address his critics, he posted in Instagram stories, “If you’ve ever been offended by a joke I’ve told, here’s a link to my official apology.” When viewers clicked the link, they were taken to a website that sold special needs helmets.
