The following is a press release issued by the Mendocino Transit Authority:
The Mendocino Transit Authority (MTA) and Mendocino Council of Governments (MCOG), in partnership with other agencies, are organizing the second round of community workshops for their Short-Range Transit Development Plan. The public is invited to attend these workshops to provide their input and feedback.
There are two options available for community members to participate. The first option is an in-person community workshop, held on Tuesday, January 9th, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm at the Fort Bragg Town Hall, 363 N Main Street in Fort Bragg. The second option is a virtual community meeting, which will be held on Thursday, January 11th, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm through Zoom.
The Short-Range Transit Development Plan is a comprehensive study that aims to evaluate the current transit systems in Mendocino County. The plan seeks to identify the best ways to meet the public’s transit needs and determine where transit resources should be focused now and in the future. During the initial planning phase, the project team gathers and analyzes data on current transit services, transit users, potential riders, and the Mendocino community to understand their priorities.
MTA is updating its Short-Range Transit Development Plan. This plan will guide MTA’s transit and rider improvements over the next five years.
The MTA and its partner agencies invite all community members to attend one of the upcoming workshops. These workshops are designed to provide attendees with the latest updates from the project team since the last workshop. Additionally, community members will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and feedback with the project team. We encourage everyone to attend one of the workshops scheduled for January 9th and January 11th.
