Traffic on Highway 101 south of Willits on the Ridgewood Grade has been diminished to one lane this morning after a box truck crashed spilling diesel fuel in the roadway.
The California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page Indicates a box truck crashed in the southbound lane of Highway 101 around 5:01 a.m. just south of the quarry on the Willits Grade coming to rest near the center divider. Immedietly reports of diesel fuel leaking from the wreck into the roadway were reported.
As a result, Highway 101 has been diminished to a one-way traffic operation from Ridgewood Road to Mariposa Creek Road and hazardous materials crews work to secure the scene. As per the Caltrans Quickmap, officials estimate the road to reopen to full traffic around 10:00 a.m. today.
UPDATE 7:23 a.m.: According to the CHP page, Cal Fire is reporting there was no fuel spill. QuickMap shows traffic is still moving slowly through the area.
UPDATE 8:37 a.m.: Caltrans Quickmap shows the road has reopened.
