Categories:

Multiple agencies have converged on Lake Mendocino this evening conducting a search after receiving reports of a possible injured hiker requiring medical rescue.

At 7:10 p.m., Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Captain Quincy Cromer told us “Sheriff’s Office and fire personnel are at Lake Mendocino investigating a possible injured hiker with assistance from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We have not made contact with the hiker at this point of the investigation.”

Scanner traffic indicates authorities are searching the area of the Lake Mendocino Dam and the trails south on foot as well as patrolling the shorelines by boat.

One first responder suggested requesting a helicopter with infrared capabilities. The status of the request was unclear.

The missing hiker is reportedly wearing all black and possibly barefoot, according to scanner traffic.
