Emergency Response Unfolds in Ukiah as Passenger Jumps from Moving Vehicle

First responders are converging on Ukiah’s North Orchard Avenue after a passenger reportedly jumped from a moving vehicle suffering “moderate injuries” as a result.

Scanner traffic began around 2:55 p.m. when dispatch initially reported a vehicle versus a pedestrian incident.

By 3:00 p.m., law enforcement was reporting from the scene and relayed to dispatch that the injured party was not a pedestrian but a passenger that leaped from a moving vehicle near the 600 block of North Orchard Avenue.

Law enforcement at the scene said the injured party suffered lacerations to the arms and legs. They also relayed to dispatch that the involved vehicle appeared to have multiple children inside.?

One officer mentioned detaining a witness to the incident as they attempted to understand the circumstances that led up to the passenger jumping out of the moving vehicle.
