On February 11, 2024, at 1905 hours, CHP dispatch received a call of an overturned cattle truck located on State Route 20, near Mule Skinner Rd, (between Clearlake Oaks and Williams).  Units from the CHP, CAL FIRE, North Shore Fire Dept, and several local agencies, along with a group of local ranchers responded to the scene to assist in handling the incident.  The overturned cattle truck was transporting close to 40 head of cattle, many of which became hazards in the roadway, resulting in a minor injury collision with a passing motorist.  State Route 20 was intermittently closed while cleanup efforts took place and concluded at approximately 0600 hours.

The driver of the cattle truck did not remain at the scene of the crash or return to the scene after the collision.  The cause of the collision is under investigation by CHP Clear Lake Area personnel.
