CalFresh Households: Did Recent Storms Knock Out Your Power and Spoil Your Food? Get Reimbursed Now!

The following is a press release issued by the County of Mendocino:

The USDA Food and Nutrition Service has authorized a Timely Reporting Waiver for CalFresh households that were impacted by the weather events that began on Saturday, February 3rd to request replacement of food loss.

The replacement of benefits allows for affected households in Mendocino County to request replacement of their CalFresh benefits, not to exceed one month’s allotment, if a household reports loss of food due to the above weather event.

Households have until March 4, 2024, to request replacement by submitting a Replacement Affidavit through www.benefitscal.com or our local offices.

For assistance in requesting replacement benefits, please contact Mendocino County Department of Social Services at (707) 463-7700 (Ukiah) or (707) 962-1000 (Fort Bragg).
