Firefighters are on the scene of a residential structure fire in the hills west of Laytonville this evening.

Scanner traffic began around 6:36 p.m. indicating a chimney fire had extended into the home located at the 10500 block of Branscomb Road.

Firefighters responding to the scene could be heard attempting to pinpoint the incident’s exact location.

Upon arrival, the Incident Commander reported the structure as a three-story home that was engulfed in flames, and thankfully all occupants had evacuated the building.
