A woman walking along a Willits roadway this evening was reportedly intentionally targeted by a driver who allegedly struck her which resulted in her careening into a roadside ditch.

Scanner traffic began around 6:43 p.m. indicating the woman was struck on the 22000 block of Eastside Road by a silver Honda Civic hatchback occupied by two white male adults. The driver reportedly drove north after striking the woman.

The pedestrian was able to self-transport to Willits’s Howard Hospital and currently Willits Police officers and California Highway Patrol officers are converging on the area searching for the involved vehicle.

UPDATE 7:45 p.m.: A law enforcement officer surveyed the area where the hit and run reportedly occurred and told dispatch he could not find any evidence of the incident.

    • So am I – bigtime. How many people when hit by a vehicle (at 6:45, when it’s quite dark) are able to see into said vehicle – as they are being hit, presumably – and discern just who is in there, let alone their sex and race. I’ve been hit twice, and I assure you, it’s just not so, unless of course they actually stopped. I smell fiction.

  1. Hope she wasn’t too badly injured. Same thing happened to a family member. The car that hit my family member slowed down briefly, then sped away when she was able to stand up. What’s wrong with people.
