The polls have closed in Mendocino County and the first numbers are being reported out of our local election office. We are here to bring you the latest.
Please note that these results are fluid and preliminary. We will update throughout the evening as more numbers come in.
As of 8:09 p.m., 7,094 registered voters’ ballots have been tallied and 62.66% of the county’s precincts have reported their results.
In the race for Mendocino County’s 1st District Supervisor, Madeline Cline is in the lead with 59.57% followed by Adam Gaska with 22.7%. Candidates Trevor Mockel and Carrie Shattuck hold 9.25% of the vote and 8.47% of the vote respectively.
In Mendocino County 4th District, Fort Bragg City Councilman and Mayor Bernie Norvell has a commanding lead over challenger Gerogina Avila-Gorman holding 81.47% of the votes while Avila-Gorman holes 18.43%.
The tightest supervisoral race at this hour has proven to be in Mendocino County’s 2nd District covering the Ukiah area between incumbent Mo Mulheren and challenger Jacob Brown. Mulheren currently holds 51.14% of the vote with Brown close behind at 48.86%.
So far 80.92% of Mendocino County residents have voted yes on Measure R, which would renew the county’s abandoned vehicle program.
The 2nd Assembly District currently has three front runners. The lone Republican Michael Greer has 26.34% of the vote. Mendocino County’s own 5th District Supervisor Ted Williams has 21.37% of the vote, and Rusty Hicks stands at 16.37% of the vote.
As for the candidate in the lead to represent Mendocino County in the United States House of Representatives, currently incumbent Jared Huffman is well-ahead of his challengers with 69.08% of the vote.
