Two SUVs collided head-on this morning on State Route 20 between Willits and Fort Bragg resulting in three patients with moderate injuries. The eastbound lane is blocked and one-way traffic control measures are in place.
Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page indicate the collision occurred around 9:59 a.m. near mile marker 27.32 of SR-20 described as the top of Seven Mile.
Initial reports indicated that one subject was possibly entrapped and another ejected prompting a request for an air ambulance.
When the Incident Commander arrived at the scene around 10:20 a.m., he found all involved subjects safely out of the vehicles suffering minor to moderate injuries. He subsequently canceled the air ambulance.
The involved vehicles came to rest in the eastbound lane of SR-20 requiring one-way traffic control until a tow truck hauls them away.
UPDATE 1:39 p.m.: Both lanes of SR-20 are now open to traffic after the involved vehicles were transported from the scene.
