A reported missing American flag in Willits turned out to be a big misunderstanding.

Over the Memorial Day weekend, an American flag was raised during a ceremony at 90 South Main Street. The event, organized by the American Legion, Willits Boy Scouts, Willits Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Willits, drew hundreds of community members. It featured performances of “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipes and “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The ceremony also served as a prelude to the 42nd Annual Willits Car and Bike Show.

Early Tuesday morning, May 28, the flag raised during the ceremony was discovered missing, sparking outrage and disappointment in the community. The Willits Police Department was notified.

However, Walter Kolon, the Services and Facilities Director of the City of Willits, confirmed that the flag was not stolen. City workers, tasked with putting up flags, had inadvertently replaced the flag on the old Rexall flagpole, which didn’t actually need replacing. After the ceremony, the Honor Guard put the city flag back up. A city worker collected the flag on Tuesday, unaware of the confusion it would cause.

Now, city workers will present the flag and its storage box to the police department, effectively closing the case.

  1. Give thanks that this was a false alarm and simple oversight/mistake.
“Things” aren’t quite as twisted and f**ked as we may have thought.

  2. Willts Boy Scouts?
That organization has been banned and removed by leftists.
Scouting America now welcomes all 87 genders in the tent for an overnight party.
