Photos sent to us from a community member show intense smoke and flames shooting skyward.
This is actually the second fire at the C&S Waste Solutions property in less than a month. On June 11, 2024, a compost conveyor belt ignited requiring response from Ukiah Valley Fire Authority, CAL FIRE, and Hopland FIre Protection District.
UPDATE 6:34 a.m.: The Incident Commander reported the fire is officially contained.
The picture above was sent to us by a reader demonstrating the intensity of the smoke over two hours after the flames ignited. MendoFever, based in Hopland, can see drift smoke from the fire nearly 20 miles to the south.
UPDATE 6:48 a.m.: A Ukiah resident sent us the above video showing the extent of the damage and response required to extinguish this morning’s warehouse fire.
UPDATE 10:15 a.m.: Over six hours after the fire ignited, smoke is still rising from the warehouse as seen in the above photograph sent to us by a community member.

Still smokin’ nearly 12 hours after initial combustion as well.
CalOSHA might wanna check in on C&S, two fires in 4 weeks isn’t what I’d call a GOOD omen.
