On July 16, 2024, at approximately 8:45 PM, an investigation was conducted into the report of 4-6 shots heard in the area of Park Drive and St Francis near the County Park in Kelseyville.

The following day, July 17, 2024, around 11:00 AM, a deceased red and white Hereford Bull was discovered by its owner. The bull was located on the same property where the herd resides. It’s likely the animal was shot in the area of Park Drive and St Francis, as the fence line closely borders the roadway. It was discovered the bull was shot 4-5 times with a shotgun containing bird shot as several of the pellets were removed from the animal upon initial investigation.

Deputies reviewed video surveillance at the County Park and saw a white four-door sedan with tinted windows leaving the park and applying its brakes as it approached the pasture where the bull was located when the shots were heard.

Deputies are actively following up on leads related to this senseless killing and ask anyone with information to come forward. Please reach out to Deputy Coddington via email at collin.coddington@lakecountyca.gov.

  1. It takes a special kind of monster to murder a defenseless animal incapable of causing any kind of physical, mental, or emotional harm. One has to assume the poor bovine spurned the sad, pathetic man’s sexual advances, thus throwing him into a fit of murderous rage. Hope they catch you, you weak ass POS!!!

    • Humans who have a tendency to torture and kill harmless animals for no reason other than their sick pleasures almost without fail inevitably end up murdering other humans.
There was a kid my age in Ukiah who lived in our neighborhood back in the late 1950’s early 60’s who had a sick passion for killing peoples cats by horrible methods.
When he was in his late twenties he ended up murdering his own mother and her boyfriend by barricading them into the apartment where they were living in the Bay Area and setting the place on fire.
I’m not going to mention his real name but I’m certain that some of the old Ukians know who I am referring to.

      • Criminal tendencies are connected to killing animals for fun or out of boredom. This is a known fact, that psychopathic tendencies show themselves early in this way. I hope they catch the person who did this soon and his or her mental illness is recognized and treated and incarceration considered.

    • Actually a bull is fully capable of defending itself, if it knows it’s under attack
The retard in the white sedan needs to be ambushed in the same manner.
