Fatal Traffic Collision on SR-20 West of Williams Snarls Traffic

A fatal two-car collision occurred this afternoon on State Route 20 west of Williams in Colusa County causing significant traffic disruptions in the area.

CHP’s Traffic Incident Information Page indicated that a van and a sedan collided around 1:26 p.m. near the intersection of SR-20 and Walnut Drive affecting both lanes of the highway. The collision resulted in occupants being trapped in both vehicles. Emergency responders requested both air and ground ambulances to the scene.

One person sustained minor injuries, another suffered moderate injuries, and tragically, one individual succumbed to their injuries.

The Caltrans QuickMap indicates that traffic in the area is heavily impacted due to the incident. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and expect delays.

  1. Highway 20 has no shortage of fools, from Fort Bragg all the way to at least Colusa. There are always desperate morons making reckless passes against oncoming traffic in the particular area of this crash. Maintain your vehicle and watch out!
