Several days ago, Fort Bragg police officers received a tip of cocaine sales in the 100 block of Minnesota Avenue. They initiated an investigation and uncovered enough evidence to apply for a search warrant. A judge granted that search warrant for the property.

On August 7, 2024 at approximately 7:45am, Fort Bragg officers served the search warrant.  During the search, officers located cocaine packaged for distribution, over $22,000 in cash, and other evidence of narcotics sales. Mendocino Major Crimes Task Force (MMCTF) was contacted, who responded and assisted with the investigation.

Two adults were home during the search warrant and were detained. The adult female was questioned and released with no charges. The adult male, Christopher Moran, 41 of Fort Bragg,  was questioned, arrested and booked into the Mendocino County jail on the charge of 11351(a)  H&S – Possession of narcotics with intent to sell (felony).

Chief Neil Cervenka said, “This is another example of Fort Bragg police officers going the extra mile to make our community safer. Illegal narcotics destroy lives and hurt those around them.”

The Fort Bragg Police Department can assist those with substance use disorders into treatment.  Please call the Care Response Unit at (707)961-2800 and choose option 6.

  1. Great work by FBPD and the anonymous tipster. Community policing at its finest. Another poison pusher is in the system and on the radar. I trust you’ll be keeping an eye on this guy when he inevitably gets out of jail.

Judging by the currency I’d guess mr moran’s best customers were high schoolers, bar tenders, or maybe strippers with a long commute.

I wonder if the cocaine was tested for fentanyl content?

  2. I heard the piles of ones are not because of how people were paying for the drugs but turned out to be non-drug-related and were returned to their rightful owner. Seems like sloppy police work rather than something to crow about…

  3. I’d love to see an audit of asset forfeiture in this county. What does the DA & law enforcement agencies do with all the money, cars, land etc etc they seize?

  4. Once again officer Frank proves himself to our community!!! I hope Chris doesn’t get a dime of this money back. Him and his wife have been selling Coke to people at the house for years now….

  5. Doesn’t his wife work at the Hospitality Center with Jannette? Seems like they need new employees if their significant other is dealing drugs! Glad the PD got him before any of our children overdosed on his laced drugs.
