A man from Lower Lake, California, was arrested in Arkansas after state troopers discovered 105 pounds of high-grade marijuana in his vehicle, authorities said.

As per a press release, David Willis, 44, was stopped by Arkansas State Police on Wednesday, August 21, around 4:40 p.m., while driving eastbound on Interstate 40 in Conway County, according to police. Troopers had pulled over the rented 2023 Chevrolet Malibu for a traffic violation at the 104-mile marker when they discovered multiple large trash bags in the trunk, containing vacuum-sealed bundles of marijuana.

Willis was taken into custody and transported to the Conway County Detention Center. He faces felony charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Willis told investigators he was en route from California to Knoxville, Tennessee.

It must be stated that the charges have not been proven in a court of law. In accordance with the legal principle of the presumption of innocence, any individual described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

  1. You see? The cannabis is going to dry states where the price is still worth growing it. Tell Arkansas to get with the program and grow their own or buy it fully legally from California, in a fully legal market that benefits Northern California

  2. One would assume an oder was emanating from the car but, if it was just a traffic violation that led to an unlawful search & rights violations, that pisses me off! Cops constantly make up & lie about probable cause. Sick of it! Also, I guarantee the tint on that trooper car is illegal. Which they write tickets for all day long.

    • Right!?!? I think it’s time the people rise up! Enough is enough already! Cops are rampant and amok in America. Biggest most lethal gang in the United States and they are quick and licensed to kill with “internal” investigations which deem their killings “justified”. Just WTF!?!?!? RISE, PEOPLE RISE!

    • Definitely an area where they pull people over with made up excuses in order to poke around peoples things without real cause. I was pulled over very close to the same place as the guy in the article on two different occasions in separate years. Once I was in a long line of traffic and the officer came flying up from 30 cars back to pull me over for what he said was following to close to the car in front. Never mind that all the cars in the row of traffic were about the same distance apart. After he looked through a few things he told me to have a nice day. Never a second mention of the alleged following to close. Two years later in the same spot I got pulled over for allegedly swerving in my lane. Tire never crossed the center line nor the white line and again after asking to search the vehicle and being told no, ridiculed over being stopped in the same place twice for a made up reason he to told me to go without so much as a second thought on the BS excuse he used to pull me over and try to intimidate. It would seem that the Arkansas troopers simply pull over as many cars as they can under questionable pretext knowing that simple numbers are on their side to catch someone doing something. Respect for the letter of the law is not part of their scheme.

  4. These sort of articles always seem to bring out the dumbest criminal commenters and their similarly challenged sympathizers.

The cannabis industry has definitely had a negative overall effect on the collective IQ of Mendocino County
