A fast-moving wildfire near Harbor Road and Boren Bega Drive in the Lake County community of Kelseyville has prompted evacuation orders this afternoon, Tuesday, September 10, 2024, as local authorities rushed to contain the blaze.
The fire, known as the Harbor Fire, ignited around 4:30 p.m. and has spread to approximately 4 acres with a rapid rate of growth, according to air attack above the fire. Multiple structures are threatened. Ground and air resources have been deployed to combat the flames.
Evacuation orders are currently in effect for the area designated Kelseyville E146, with officials urging residents to leave immediately. Footage from the Kelseyville fire camera shows a growing smoke column as crews work to bring the fire under control.
UPDATE 4:57 p.m.: The Genasys map shows new evacuation warnings have gone out.
The fire is pushing away from the structures into the lake, according to air crew.
