Woman injured after being trampled by horses northwest of Willits

A woman was reportedly trampled by three horses this evening, leaving her with a head injury. Emergency medical teams are on the scene.

Scanner traffic indicated the incident took place around 5:25 p.m. at Rocking Horse Ranch, near the intersection of Timber Road and Sherwood Road northwest of Willits.

First responder reports confirmed the woman sustained head injuries but remained conscious.

    This is a terrible headline. How was the woman injured “after” she was trampled by horses? Did she drop her typewriter on her foot? Suffer a paper cut? Was she hit by a car “after” being trampled by the horses? It seems to me that what you are trying to convey is that she was trampled and hurt by the horses, but what you are saying is that something happened to her “after” the event with the horses. “Willits Woman Injured by Horses” might be better. Or, “Three Horses Trample Willits Woman.”

      Well, Tom, like most injuries, they tend to happen after the event causing them. It’s not rocket science. Maybe save the overthinking for something more complex?
