Authorities investigate reported shooting, chase in Redwood Valley

Law enforcement is responding to a rapidly evolving situation in Redwood Valley associated with the Coyote Valley Indian Reservation after reports of gunfire and a vehicle pursuit surfaced Sunday morning. It is believed the suspect could be enroute to the Willits area.

According to initial reports heard via scanner traffic, a red GMC SUV with an unknown number of occupants allegedly fired into a dwelling, possibly located on Vincent Lane. The incident, reported at approximately 9:20 a.m., prompted a chase by a reporting party driving a white pickup truck.

The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling toward Highway 101. Authorities are working to locate the SUV and assess the situation, which remains fluid as facts continue to emerge.

No injuries or further details have been confirmed.
