On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, a two vehicle accident occurred near the intersection of North State Street and Parducci Road in Ukiah, California at approximately 3:10 p.m. California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Olegario Marin said the accident resulted in two hospitalizations, one requiring an airlift to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
Officer Marin explained that 37-year-old Curtis James Bettega from Clearlake was parked in his Cadillac Escalade on the west shoulder of North State Street facing south and proceeded to make a u-turn. At that moment, 49-year-old Michael Gordon Renno from Willits was traveling in the southbound lane of Parducci Road when his Peterbilt semi-truck stuck the left side of Bettega’s black Escalade.
Bettega, the driver of the black Cadillac Escalade, was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial to treat his injuries. Ukiah resident 28-year-old Mindy Pratt was a passenger of the Escalade and was transported to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley to treat minor injuries.
Officer Marin said that alcohol and/or drugs are not considered to be a factor in the collision and that as of today, all parties have been released from the hospital.
