Transient Steals Woman’s Wallet After Her Son Dropped it on Ukiah’s Rail Trail

Scanner traffic indicates at approximately 11:45 a.m. a woman and her son were walking on Ukiah’s pedestrian Rail Trail when her son dropped her wallet and subsequently a male transient in a black hoodie approached and took the wallet.

According to the dispatcher, the transient became hostile when the son attempted to get the wallet back.

Ukiah Police Department officer are responding to the scene located near the intersection of the Rail Trail and Gobbi.
