Fort Bragg Water Line Break Being Repaired Today After Citizens Report Low-Water Pressure and Flooded Streets

Categories:

The following is a press release issued by the City of Fort Bragg:

[Picture provided by the City of Fort Bragg]

If you drove down E. Oak Street this morning, you likely saw the water pouring down the street. Or, you may have noticed low water pressure or no water if you live in the City limits. This is due to a water line break which Public Works Crews responded to quickly in the Oak Street, Mc Kinley area and are attempting to locate and isolate the leak for repair.

The water leak was first reported around 6:00 am this morning. Critical facilities, such as the hospital and dialysis clinic have been notified. Water customers may be impacted throughout the morning and possibly into the afternoon.

Water pressure at the location has been reduced to complete repairs to the water main line. This may have an impact on a large portion of the City’s water users. A two-lane closure of Oak Street between Wall Street and Florence Street is expected throughout the day, please avoid the area if possible and follow proper detours.

We hope to restore water and traffic flow to the area as soon as possible and will continue to provide information throughout the day as it arises. Thank you for your patience during this difficult situation.
