The following is a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol:

On April 2, 2021, at approximately 2230 hours, a 36 year old male (name withheld) was driving a 2014 Polaris Ranger on a gravel road on the property of 20779 State Route 128. For unknown reasons, the driver made an unsafe turning movement, causing the Polaris Ranger to overturn. As a result of the Polaris Ranger overturning, the driver was ejected out of the driver seat. The driver came to rest on the gravel roadway and the Polaris Ranger came to rest on top of the driver. At approximately 0700 hours on April 3, 2021, the driver was able to make a phone call for help and family members arrived to remove the Polaris Ranger from on top of him. Emergency medical personnel arrived and the driver was transported to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley hospital. Despite life saving efforts from medical staff, the driver subsequently succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision.

It is unknown whether alcohol or drug use was a factor in the cause of the collision. The collision is currently being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
