Categories:

Multiple fire agencies are currently conducting a controlled burn at Ukiah’s Municipal Airport. Ukiah Valley Fire Authority’s Battalion Chief Eric Singleton told us the controlled burn will last until 3 o’clock this afternoon.

Battalion Chief Singleton told us the goal of the today’s controlled burn is to “reduce the fuel load around the airport to protect commercial and residential structures in the area as we enter peak fire season.”

Fire agencies such as Ukiah Valley Fire Authority, Hopland Fire, Brooktrails Fire, and Mendocino Cal Fire unit were present at the controlled burn.
