Fort Bragg Man Booked on Arson Charges Accused of Lighting Ukiah Hotel Dumpster Fire

This following is a press release from Ukiah Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On 07-14-2021, at about 2137 hours, Ukiah PD officers and Ukiah Valley Fire Authority (UVFA)  responded to the Fairfield Inn to investigate a report of a dumpster fire. UVFA obtained evidence,  including surveillance video that was provided to the Ukiah PD. Nathaniel Chim, a 27-year-old, Fort  Bragg resident, was identified by Ukiah PD as the suspect from the surveillance video. Chim was located  by Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and arrested for the violations by Ukiah PD on 07-16- 2021.
