Categories:

The following is a press release issued by the Fort Bragg Police Department:

On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, Officers from the Fort Bragg Police Department will be conducting a special Traffic Crosswalk Safety Enforcement Project.

This event will be considered a Maximum Enforcement Event, to include citations for all violations observed. The purpose of this event is to bring attention to crosswalk safety with all the Fort Bragg Schools starting the following day. The event will take place throughout the City, with Officers primarily focusing on crosswalks near school zones.

Our goal for this event is to bring awareness to this issue, especially near our schools. It has been almost a year since are children have been able to attend school. The Fort Bragg Police Department holds the safety of our children to be a high priority. We hope that no citations will be needed! This press release and enforcement action is to prevent future collisions especially those involving pedestrians.

Any questions or concerns can be directed to Traffic Sergeant Shaw at 707-961-2800 x 181 or by email at jshaw@fortbragg.com .
