Early this morning, we responded to a vegetation fire in the area of Sherwood and Timber Roads. While responding, we coordinated with the Sheriffs Department to evacuate the immediate area due to the time of day and known residences in the area. We arrived to find approximately 3 to 5 acres threatening structures. Swift action by responding units kept the fire away from the structures and contained the fire in quick order. All evacuations have been lifted. Also responding were Cal Fire, Little Lake Fire, Ridgewood Ranch Fire, Laytonville Fire, MCSO, and Willits PD.
