About 11:19 p.m., the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department warned residents in a Nixle Alert, “Fire Personnel are responding to the 18300 block of Scenic Drive in Redwood Valley for reported fire in the area. Please avoid the area at this time. Updates to follow as they become available.”
At least one dozer and several fire departments are responding to the area per the scanner.

UPDATE 11:38 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported, “Looks to be a couple of acres with a slow rate of spread.”
UPDATE 11:47 p.m.: “There’s some tall trees on fire,” reported the Incident Commander but, he said, the fire was still moving slowly.
UPDATE 11:50 p.m.: According to the latest report over the scanner, there is “one RV fully involved.” The Firefighter speaking said there was “potential for two to three acres.”
UPDATE 12:08 a.m.: The AlertWildfire cam shows the fire is dying down and the firefighters are bringing it under control.
