A man walking along the roadway was struck and killed by a vehicle last night.
[UPDATE: One-Way-Traffic] Mendocino Coast’s State Route 1 Closed South of Caspar After Tree Blocks Both Lanes
County Roads and other workers are responding to the scene to both display signage communicating the closure and work to clear the roadway.
Over 1200 customers are without power in northern Mendocino County into western Trinity County, and into southern Humboldt County. The power outage began about 11:54 a.m. and, currently, there is no estimated time of restoral.
The truck is still on it’s wheels but its load spilled onto the southbound lanes. Traffic is slowed through the area.
Breaking News: Deputies are using an unmanned aerial vehicle to try and track down the missing hikers and a siren will be initiated to get the hikers’ attention.
The driver of the vehicle told the 911 operator that she had hit a dirt bike with her vehicle.
About 11:39 p.m., a semi hauling propane overturned about mile marker 4.1 on Hwy 162. The semi landed on its side with smoke coming out. The propane, 2600 gallons, is leaking.
Judging from the grin on his face, maybe he’s glad to avoid the rain and have regular access to toilet paper again.
