A 35′ box truck crashed on Hwy 101 near the intersection with Hwy 162 around 8:34 p.m. this evening. The truck landed on its driver’s side. Both southbound lanes are blocked. Fortunately, first reports are that no one is injured. However, fluids are leaking from the vehicle.
Following the crash, weather conditions have gotten worse with snow beginning to stick on the highway, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Traffic Incident Information Page.
Caltrans is on scene and several hours of work are anticipated, involving not only the removal of the vehicle and clearing the accident site but also dealing with the snow by salting/sanding the road.
Please be careful if driving through that stretch of road.
Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.
Climate crisis just like scientists warned about back in 1983. It will no longer snow again.
