The following is a press release issued by the Mendocino County Water Agency:
Drought relief grant funding is now available! The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) have made multiple grantprogramsavailable to address urgent and long-term drought response and recovery needs. In order to support local agencies in Mendocino County who are interested in these funding sources, the County of Mendocino will be hosting informational drought funding workshops over the next several weeks, starting on October 15 from 1:00-2:30 PM. The first workshop will cover the basics of the funding programs currently available and offer tips for developing an effective grant application. Representatives from DWR will be on hand to discuss their programs, and County partners Mendocino County Research Conservation District and LACO Associates will provide grant writing tips and best practices.
If you represent a local agency and are interested in pursuing drought relief funding, we want to hear from you! A link to register for the workshop is provided below, along with a link to a survey requesting information regarding your funding needs and potential projects. Survey responses and feedback received during and after the first workshop session will help to define the content in future workshop sessions. If you have questions about the workshop or content you would like to see covered, please email mcwa@mendocinocounty.org.
