A massive power outage has hit Round Valley in northeast Mendocino County affecting at least 1,368 customers. The Pacific Gas and Electric Power Outage Map indicates crews are currently investigating the cause of the outage and have yet to provide an estimated time of restoration.

From west to east, customers from Dos Rios, along State Route 162, Covelo and its outlying areas, and customers east of Covelo towards the Black Butte River and the Middle Fork of the Eel River are in the dark tonight as temperatures currently hover around 32 degrees with snow in the forecast currently and into Monday morning.

Please, use the bulletin from the Federal Emergency Management Agency that explains strategies to maximize warmth during a winter storm power outage.
