At approximately 7:13 a.m., two vehicles collided head-on south of Laytonville on Highway 101 resulting in what the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page is characterizing as a “major injury” and a blocked roadway.

The vehicles that reportedly collided were described as a Toyota Rav4 and a Lincoln Navigator. The collision blocked both the north and southbound lanes of the highway. Reports from the scene indicated one of the vehicle occupants got out of the vehicle and laid down in the roadway due to a back injury.

Crews have been working to clear the roadway and the Caltrans Quickmap indicates the northbound lane is flowing smoothly while the southbound lane is slowed.
