Firefighters Quickly Contain Escaped Burn Pile That Threatened Nearby Structure in Round Valley

Firefighters on the scene quickly knocked back the flames [Photographs taken by a reader]

Scanner traffic indicates that Covelo Fire Department personnel were dispatched to a fire on the 22000 block of Refuse Road originally described as a burn pile that flared into nearby vegetation and threatened a nearby structure.

A Covelo Fire engine and water tender deployed to the scene and knocked back the flames quickly. The fire was deemed under control by the Incident Commander. Units will be on the scene for approximately an hour for mop-up.
