A single-vehicle traffic accident on State Route 20 between Lucerne and Clearlake Oaks has left a motorcyclist deceased and the motorcycle itself in the lake where it ended up after the accident.

Paramedics at the scene reported giving CPR to the motorcyclist. Despite their life-saving efforts, they succumbed to the injuries.

The motorcycle is about 20 feet offshore, according to a first responder on the scene, and is mostly submerged.

The Caltrans Quickmap indicates traffic is slowed in the area and a commuter is reporting to us that emergency vehicles are impeding traffic.

  1. Too many people dying on 20. How many have we lost so far this year? Is this the third or second death this week?
Slow down, be cautious and kind. We all want to arrive to our destinations safely. So heartbreaking for these folks family and friends.
