At approximately 2:15 p.m. multiple agencies converged to extinguish a wildfire in Solano County, specifically in the town of Fairfield which drew considerable resources. By 2:35 p.m., the fire’s forward progress was stopped.
Reports indicate the fire grew to one acre in size with a slow rate of spread before being brought under control. Initially, agencies at the scene described the blaze as a “three-alarm fire”, which means the fire is considered serious and suggests it could take considerable time to extinguish.
The Incident Commander reported smoke was impacting the nearby Interstate 80 causing traffic to slow down.
Crews are still on scene mopping up the fire.
