Over 11,000 Pacific Gas and Electric Customers are currently without power on Mendocino County’s coast from Rockport to Little River reaching eastward to Melbourne and Big River Campground along State Route 20.

The map separates the massive outage into two portions, one ranging from Fort Bragg north to Rockport and the other from Fort Bragg south to Little River. It is unknown if this extensive outage is caused by the same disruption or two separate ones.

For both incidents, the PG&E Outage Map indicates that the outages began at 4:05 p.m. Personnel are reportedly “investigating the cause of your outage.”

  1. A follow up Kym to PGE asking for the exact cause of both outages would be most appreciated.

Was the cause a break in a line caused by 40MPH+ winds knocking a tree onto a line?

Or was the cause malfunction of a switch or station?

Once you get an answer to those questions, where did the cause occur?
