Small Vegetation Fire Flares Up Behind Ukiah’s Walmart

At approximately 7:21 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the area behind Walmart after reports that a vegetation fire was burning in the area.

The Incident Commander reported upon arrival that the fire is approximately 20’x30′ in size.

Both the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority and CAL FIRE responded to the scene.


UPDATE 7:30 p.m.: Law enforcement is being requested at the scene after firefighters located a subject in the area potentially associated with the incident.

  1. Let me guess….junkie bum? Or misunderstood unhoused drug dabbler? We need to shut this down. Most fires are started by bums who are tweeking. Arson should be a major crime. But in CA, nothing is punishable in the courts. I pray for this country and this once great state
