Tragedy struck this afternoon at Lake Berryessa, a popular North Bay recreation area, when a person drowned.

Initial reports came in around 1:20 p.m. requesting a water rescue for a possible drowning victim in the vicinity of the Oak Shores Day Use Area.

By 1:40 p.m., the Incident Commander canceled the air ambulance and other incoming resources.

Just minutes later, the Incident Commander announced the rescue efforts had transitioned to recovery efforts requesting a dive team be deployed to the area.

Appreciation to Corey Edwards and his Facebook page Napa Valley, CA – Fire & Police Emergency Info for documentation of the unfortunate event.
