Mendocino County Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder Katrina Bartolomie announced that as with every election, there are ballots left to be processed and counted as part of the official canvass.  Mendocino County has 17,080 Vote By Mail ballots to process and count, and 617 Provisional / Conditional ballots to review, process and count.  By law, any ballot that is postmarked by Election Day (Nov 8) will be accepted thru Tuesday, Nov 15, 2022, which may increase the number of ballots to process.

Ballots left to count in the “Hot” contests are: The City of Ukiah – 2700; City of Point Arena – 64; City of Fort Bragg – 1200; Willits Unified School – 2950; Potter Valley Unified School – 580; Round Valley Unified School – 500; Mendocino Coast Health Care District – 4450; Brooktrails Community Service District – 700; Hopland Fire – 350; Redwood Valley/Calpella Fire – 1450; Redwood Valley County Water – 1150.

For the past 4 years we have updated our count (unofficial results) within 2 weeks of Election Day on our website and provided those number to the Secretary of State’s office.  We will update our numbers again this election in the same manner.

Per State law, we have 30 days to complete the canvass and certify the election. The Statement of Vote, which breaks down results by precinct, will be available at that time.

If you have any additional questions, please call our office at (707) 234-6819.

  1. The trend toward slow reporting of election results is disturbing, to say the least. Unsecured voting and delayed vote totals are threatening the integrity of the process. Is this why the majority of people in Mendocino County chose to not vote?

  2. A County Clerk in CA has 30days to certify the count.
    Is not a new law.
Mendo has taken very near, or all of, the full 30days many times in the last 20+yrs.

The only time unofficial results have shown a likely winner is when the early count shows mathematically that the remaining ballots to count could not change the outcome.

You say, “never used to”…that’s clearly not based on any factual info or data, period.

Call the County Clerk’s office and ask them yourself.

Maybe you’re too young to remember or maybe you weren’t paying attention in previous election counts or maybe you only got interested when the looneys made intentionally false claims to get the mob whipped up and tried to undermine voter confidence in and steal the election…AND/OR…maybe you don’t care about facts, which many of your previous posts evidence.

    • While you addressed the issue of time….the real issue…is every voter gets two ballots, mail in and one at their polling location….as a voter I surrendered mail in by writing surrender. Then requested my polling ballot. This two ballot shit should questioned! The voting system is corrupt by the state…county follows along…

  3. Its the illuminati, specifically jay-z & Beyonce, whom are to blame for this fraud & corruption! They’re trying to take over our county so they can replace the vineyards & cannabis with skin rejuvenating botanicals. Knowing that people will be captivated by the beauty of social media influencers who use their products to capture the attention of lame brain nitwits who will fall prey to their lies & conspiracies spread all over the internet. Thus rendering mankind completely useless & incapable of rational thought.

  4. It’s sad that is county based on ag didn’t vote for ag….but voted for a career politician….hope for the best for the California people with our governor

  5. It seems whenever a democrat falls behind the vote comes to a halt and slowly grinds away till the democrat candidate wins. Always in a blue state. I think it could be biased election workers tilting the vote! Tonight it was reported election ballots in Bay Area were found discarded in a ravine and turned into postal inspectors for counting! If I were a candidate or voter I would question the results too.

    • Two ballots for each voter is where it dirty voting starts… each voter gets a mail in ballot and a polling ballot….one ballot one voter….the not used ballot should be shredded in front of the voter!

      • Everyone does not get 2 ballots. Provisional ballots are keyed to your ID when you are onsite at a polling place and request one.

They are not printed up for every voter in advance.

Some people really do need to take some civics/law classes and learn how to define evidence vs accepting conflated bs at face value that’s presented by extremely biased editorial talking heads.

      • In 2020 and 2022 I received a mail in ballot that I did not ask for…I’m in my local voter roll…thats how i voted with my voter roll ballot….i had two ballots registered in my name…no provisional ballot for me nothing has changed since I been 18, same spot, party….
