Truck Discovered Crashed Off Hwy 1 This Morning

"About 30 yards down was a truck, that had rolled into a tree and the cab was crushed to the seats." 

A crash occurred on Hwy 1 this morning south of Rockport and north of Hardy Creek about mile post 85 at about 10:05 a.m. A Toyota Tundra went off the roadway.

According to a passerby, John Piper, who was driving north of Fort Bragg on Hwy 1, “About 30 yards down was a truck, that had rolled into a tree and the cab was crushed to the seats.”

He said, “That truck had passed me 10 min earlier, going very fast for hwy 1.”

According to Officer Olegario Marin with the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle was empty and a person, who was possibly the driver, was seen walking southbound on Hwy 1.
