[UPDATE]’Port’ Fire Ignites in Covelo

Ground and air firefighting resources are converging at the Covelo address of 22105 Airport Drivethis afternoon where reports indicate a trailer fire ignited vegetation and spread.

The Incident Commander relayed to dispatch the “Port” Fire is approximately 1.5 acres in size burning on both sides of Airport Drive. Initially, one structure was threatened but firefighting efforts mitigated the threat.


UPDATE 1:33 p.m.: Aircraft have been released from the “Port” Fire and the Incident Commander has canceled the requested response from the United States Forest Service.
