With an established history of successful, focused giving across the globe, the 100 Women Strong model will host its second event on the Mendocino Coast on Thursday, October 19, at 5:30 at Café Beaujolais in the historic village of Mendocino. In partnership with the Community Foundation of Mendocino County, the volunteer initiative will award up to $10,000 to a local nonprofit.

A small group of coastal women launched the inaugural 100 Women Strong Mendocino Coast event in Spring 2023. The community showed up in force to support this simple, effective, and impactful movement that celebrates the power of nonprofits and collective giving. With over 125 individual contributions and 100 attendees, the Spring movement raised $16,500.

Once again, we invite community members to donate $100, individually or as a group, before the event on October 19, 5:30-7:00 at Café Beaujolais. On October 19, three local nonprofits will present a 5-minute presentation, with a 5-minute question period, on their purpose, mission, impact, and need. Each person who has donated and is in attendance will place their vote, and the winner will be announced “live.” The awarded organization will receive all donations up to $10,000; if the effort raises over $10,000, the remainder will be shared with the other two nonprofits. The nonprofits featured at this year’s event are the Mendocino Coast Humane Society, Mendocino Coast Writers’ Conference, and Noyo Center for Marine Science

100 Women Strong is a movement of women, and their loved ones, committed to amplifying individual impact through collective giving. While focusing on women as a mobilizing force, people of all genders are invited to contribute and attend the event.

100 Women Strong Mendocino Coast will hold biannual actions. The proceeding nonprofit selections come from community nominations and include any nonprofit organization that is a 501c3 in good standing that has existed for at least a year and has a presence on the Mendocino coast.
