Law enforcement is investigating an alleged rape tonight that occurred in Laytonville after a woman reportedly jumped out of a moving vehicle to escape her attacker.

Initial reports emerged around 6:34 p.m. of a woman in need of medical aid near the intersection of Highway 101 and Davidson Lane. The woman, described as a “victim of sexual assault”, had reportedly “jumped out of a moving vehicle” landing in a roadside ditch.

Officers at the scene reported the suspect was driving a white, four-door SUV and fled the area after the woman escaped the vehicle last seen driving south on Highway 101

Medics transported the woman to Willits’s Howard Hospital where Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office detectives will meet with her.

Law enforcement has broadcasted a Be-On-The-Lookout for a vehicle matching the description of the suspect in both Ukiah and Lake County areas describing the subject as a suspect in a rape investigation.

  1. Don’t expect any arrests. Our prosecutor and Head Sheriff are totally OK with rape. Even with $100,000. Reward nothing happens. The detectives try but if the court won’t do anything their hands are tied. It’s terrible. 3 guesses how I know~

    • ….This is fear mongering unless there are references provided, sorry. I tired of ‘stuff’ just thrown out there without follow-up!….
