Firefighters are requesting assistance at a barn fire in the 22300 block of Eastside Road in Willits, according to reports from dispatch and firefighters over the scanner about 8:50 p.m. Mendocino Action News is reporting that the fire began about 8:18 p.m.
Scanner reports about 8:33 p.m. from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department reports that the barn has multiple vehicles. Later, about 8:40 p.m., a deputy with the Sheriff’s Department reported that the barn may be loaded with ammunition.
About 8:45 p.m., the Incident Commander requested more resources including water tenders.
UPDATE 9:42 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported the fire is contained and estimated crews would be mopping up the fire over the next four hours.
