An allegedly intoxicated woman wrecked her vehicle east of Willits this evening and took off on foot reportedly carrying a bottle of vodka. Officers successfully apprehended her after she fled the scene.

Scanner traffic began around 7:04 p.m. indicating a traffic accident had occurred between the 3400 and the 4500 block of Hearst Road east of Willits.

When law enforcement arrived on the scene, they found a black Toyota Corolla approximately 15′ off the roadway stuck in a ditch.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies learned from a passenger on scene that the intoxicated female driver had been picked up by someone driving a white sedan.

Scanner traffic later on reported that the female driver was walking eastbound on Hearst Road carrying a bottle of vodka.

Dispatch told officers a party reported a visibly intoxicated woman flagged them down near the 1700 block of Hearst Willits Road asking for a ride.

  1. A pet peeve of mine: leaving aside any gender issues, using a plural pronoun to refer to a single person is not so much grammatically incorrect as it is linguistically confusing. In situations where precise information, like official communications, is critical this can have deleterious consequences far beyond those of ridiculous woke snobbery. “They”, was it one person, 2 or 3? I read an article in Rolling Stone sbout a transgender person who was jumped by multiple assailants with both sides to this affray being referred to as “they”, made it hard to follow and make sense of. As a substitute for “his or her” it’s fine, otherwise it’s a usage that does not serve the purposes of accurate communication.

    • They were drunk and they drove their car in the ditch. They then used their arms to flag down help.

Next time just say you struggle with reading comprehension and leave it at that, or that you’re a bigot. Don’t pussyfoot around the real “problem” you’ve got.

No need to pretend like this was about anything than wanting to complain about “the woke”.

          • Its really not that confusing.

Context clues and reading comprehension go hand-in-hand.

They can be a singular person, example, “They drove themselves to the store” or a group of people “They all piled into a bus and went for a trip”

            The context tells the story.

  2. That’s what bothers you?? Not the libtard policies that let this drunk woman go this morning on her own recognizance??????? Yeah California yeeeeaaaahhh mendo county.

    • It sounds like the only thing that they can actually prove is she was drunk. We don’t know how reliable the passenger is, it’s possible they were driving and/or drunk and putting the blame on her. Trust and believe, those librard policies are gonna do damage for years to come if she’s convicted. People wanna go on about races being marginalized, but it’s really anyone who suffers from alcoholism. By the time a person is convicted of dui it’s likely they’re already pretty deep in enough to be isolated, feel shameful as it is and probably should be in a rehab. Then even if the person gets sober, it’s not like their head is automatically cleared up and functional, and it’s way easy to make as small an error as missing an insurance payment, then the restricted drivers license is cancelled and if you find that out from a cop that has you pulled over, 2 more charges right there with consequences that are somehow way steeper than the actual dui. And trust me it’s only gets worse.

    • Then pretty soon, California courts, DMV, the interlock and insurance companies took all your money, you really can’t hold a job but now you are a California certified welfare bum! Woop woop
